I felt stuck looking for apartments on Idealista and not getting any responses. I was running against a deadline to find an apartment and sign a lease, and I was doing this from abroad.
I found Malika on a Facebook group where she had high recommendations. And there ended my concerns. Malika and I had a good and detailed chat about what I was looking for. She explained to me how she worked and within a day had a spreadsheet of properties for me to consider.
She then explained how the Portuguese system works - with viewing and making offers and confirmations. Once I found something I liked, she negotiated the rent down (a bit crazy as she works on commission so she was actually working to reduce her fee) and took over the legal aspects of the contact.
